  • How many miles around the sun?
It's not about "miles around the sun" because the sun isn't a solid object with a circumference. We talk about the distance traveled by a planet in its orbit around the sun .

For Earth, it takes about 584 million miles to complete one orbit around the sun.

To be more precise, we use the term astronomical unit (AU) . One AU is the average distance between the Earth and the sun, which is about 93 million miles.

Så jordens bana är ungefär 1 au i längd.
